Is there an age limit?

To join Air Cadets you must be atleat 12 years old (must be year 8 in school)

How much does it cost?

The Membership fee is £15 per month, all flying and gliding is paid for by the Ministry of Defence and all actvites are included in the membership fee except Camps and one or two other activites which only require small amounts of money.

Can I get a Pilots Licence in the ATC?

No, unfortuantly you can't get a pilots licence in the ATC. But at 16 you could be offered a flying scholarship that would give you a stepping stone towards your PPL.

WIll this help me get a a career in the RAF?

Ofcourse! We have strong relations to the RAF and joining Air Cadets is a great way for getting role in the RAF.

How often do we meet?

We parade (meet) twice a week (Monday and Thursday 7pm-9:30pm) Exculding public holidays.

What Aircraft do we fly?

In Air Cadets we fly the Grob Tutor for powered flying. And for gliding we fly the Vigilant and the Viking. If you're lucky you might get a passenger flight in an RAF Fast Jet or Chinook Helicopter
